What-If Factory

What-If Factory is a personal desktop application that produces short educational videos answering “what if” questions about nature and animals (for example, “What if you were a wood frog when the ice age came?”). It runs only on its owner's own computer and publishes finished videos to the owner's own YouTube, TikTok and Facebook accounts.

How it works

• The owner picks a topic. The app drafts a script with AI assistance and fact-checks it.
• The owner reviews and approves every script before production continues.
• The app creates illustrations and narration, then renders the video and Shorts versions.
• Each video is checked against platform content policies. Uploading needs a second, separate approval from the owner.
• Videos are uploaded as private (or scheduled) and are clearly labelled as AI-generated content.

TikTok integration

What-If Factory uses TikTok Login Kit so the owner can authorize their own TikTok account, and the TikTok Content Posting API to upload the owner's finished videos to that account. It requests only:

• user.info.basic — to show which account is connected;
• video.upload and video.publish — to upload the owner's own videos.

The app does not read, collect or post on behalf of any other TikTok user. Access tokens stay on the owner's computer. See the Privacy Policy for details.
